Bird Watching

We are a thriving group with the addition of some new members in the last year. We have visited a number of different places this year, very often with a guide, so that we have benefited from some really interesting, informative and enjoyable outings. We are hoping to do some extra all-day outings in the coming year. These trips will not affect our 2nd Friday monthly meetings. Most of these outings are half-day, occasionally followed by lunch if we are going further afield. Our visits are organised by different members in turn each month and enjoyed by all.  Margaret Thorpe & Gillian Allsop    Meetings: 2nd Friday 10am

Cycling – Rusty Riders

This is a group for those who are perhaps returning to cycling or who feel that they would prefer to go on rides on either cycle paths or quiet country lanes.  We try to cater for all abilities, and with an emphasis on fun and fellowship, refreshments and lunch afterwards are always an essential part of our rides. We aim to cover distances of up to 15 miles, although longer rides of up to 25 miles may be available from a link with the Sevenoaks U3A cycling group.   Barry Vanns    Meetings: 4th Friday, start 10 or 10.30 dependent on location

Golf

This group of over 30 members is well established, with women and men players of varying standards.  Starting times depend on the time of the year. In the summer it is afternoons and in the winter mornings.  The group is open to everyone and new members are welcome. We play on different courses around the county.    Trevor Coley: 3rd Wednesday

Map Reading

The map-reading course is for groups of up to 4-5 people. The course will consist of 4 sessions within one calendar month. We will be covering: signs and symbols; grid references; orientating the map; and use of map and compass. There will be one theory session and the other three sessions will be practical, out walking using the map and compass.  Janice Smith:   Meetings: When there are enough people, suitable dates and times will be agreed to suit all participants.
