2017 – 2018
The Computer Group meetings are open to every member of Knole. They are held on the 4th Thursday of the month at Holmesdale Bowls Pavilion (off Worships Hill in Riverhead) from 2-4pm. There is good parking. There is a contribution of £1 per session, which pays for the hall hire, and any surplus will be used to buy equipment to supplement the work of the group. Refreshments are available.
The Computer Group Information page includes hints and tips and details of presentations given in the past.
We subscribe to computing magazines and bring members up to speed on developments at each meeting
We encourage members to make a short presentation on a piece of software or a website they have found particularly interesting or useful.
Each month, we will cover a topic which a member has suggested might be of help to the group. Subjects proposed so far include:-
Basic Word and printing techniques
Setting up and using a database in Excel
Excel for Home finance
Free online software
Hands-on workshops to demonstrate specific aspects of computing – using your own machine. Wifi available on site so you can link to the internet.
Open forum – Q&A session on selected areas of interest – e.g. Windows 10 configuration.
Initial contact, by email, is Simon McIntyre.
Meetings: 4th Thursday, 2-4 at Holmesdale Bowls Club TN13 2AR
